Fatoumata Diawara is a singer and guitarist from Mali who fled to Paris in order to escape an arranged marriage. She’s a feminist and outspoken on the issues affecting women in Africa. Tonight, if you live near/in Chicago, you can see her play FOR FREE at the Chicago Cultural Center. She is playing as part of the  Chicago World Music Festival which brings a lot of amazing  performers from all over the world, the shows are free and all ages. GO!
